Tokens

Tokens are CAICHAT’s in-site currency. They pay for messages on paid models, images beyond the free limit, access to paid characters and some other features.

Two meanings of “tokens”

The site uses the word “tokens” for two different things:

• tokens on your balance with the icon — the money inside the site;
• text tokens — units of text length used to measure conversation memory, reply length and the size of a character’s profile. For example, “8K tokens of context memory” is about memory size, not money.

This article is about the first meaning.

Free: messages on free models and on models included in your plan, reply suggestions, memories, the lore book.

🎁 How to get tokens

• Buy a token pack — the Subscribe page, the Tokens tab. There are standard packs and packs with a discount or bonus.
• Promo code — gives a bonus on a token or subscription purchase. See Payments and promo codes.
• A friend’s referral code — bonus tokens with your top-up. See Referral program.
• Giveaways in our Discord and Telegram channel.
• Leaderboard rewards for creators of popular characters. See Leaderboard.
• Creator income can be converted into tokens. See Monetization and payouts.

🔢 Bonus and purchased tokens

Your balance holds two kinds of tokens:

• bonus — from promo codes, giveaways, promotions and rewards;
• purchased — the ones you paid for.

When you pay, bonus tokens are spent first, then purchased ones. While you have purchased tokens on your balance, you are on the Active plan: no ads and some extra features. More in Plans.

Tip

Tokens don’t expire: the unused balance is kept, including after your subscription ends.

📊 Balance history

All token movements are shown in your profile:

• Balance History — top-ups and spending by category (Chat, Image, Purchase of a bot, Translate and others) for a week, a month or a chosen period;
• Purchase History — all payments with their statuses. You can export it to CSV.

I ran out of tokens in the middle of a chat. What should I do?

Top up your balance on the Subscribe → Tokens page or switch to a free model in the chat’s side panel. See Models and behavior.

Do tokens expire after the subscription ends?

No. Tokens on your balance are kept after the subscription ends.

Where did my tokens go?

Open Balance History in your profile: it shows when and on what tokens were charged. If you see a charge you didn’t expect, write to support.

Can I get tokens refunded or send them to another user?

Tokens can’t be transferred between accounts. Refunds for purchases are handled under the Refund Policy.
