Lore book
📖 What it is
Section titled “📖 What it is”The lore book is the memory of your character’s world. The character’s profile holds only the basics: who it is and how it behaves. Everything else can go into the lore: how the world works, other characters, places, events, special rules. And reactions too: lines, pictures and facial expression changes that trigger at the right moment.
Lore doesn’t take up memory all the time. An entry is included only when its topic comes up. That’s why a character can “know” hundreds of details without getting them mixed up.
Every character you create has a lore book. You edit it once the character has been created: open its page, click next to “Start chat” and go to the section.
🧩 How it works
Section titled “🧩 How it works”Each lore entry has three parts:
- When to trigger — the condition: keywords, the meaning of a situation or a pattern.
- What to do — add a fact to the AI’s memory, send a message, send a picture or change the avatar in the chat.
- Content — text or an image.
When the condition is met, the entry triggers. For example, a “Moonlight Café” entry with the keyword “café” gives the character knowledge about this café as soon as either of you mentions it.
✏️ How to create an entry
Section titled “✏️ How to create an entry”-
Open the character for editing and go to the Lore section.
-
Click (or Create first entry if the book is still empty).
-
Fill in the (up to 100 and 500 characters). They help you find your way around the book and don’t affect the replies.

Choose the entry and set the .
-
Choose and fill in the .
-
If needed, adjust the and in the Activation settings, then click .
The entry is saved right away — you’ll see the message “Lore entry created”. You don’t need to click “Save” in the character profile for that.
A book can have up to 500 active entries — the next to the heading shows how many there are. The and the “All”, “Text” and “Images” help you find the entry you need. The shows the condition, action, priority, text, keywords and chance. The icons to the right of the name edit and delete the entry.
🎯 When to activate: conditions
Section titled “🎯 When to activate: conditions”| Condition | How it triggers | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Any keyword | If at least one of the keywords appears in the conversation | café, coffee shop, barista |
| All keywords | Only if all the keywords appear | Mira, sword — triggers when Mira’s sword comes up |
| Meaning | The AI recognizes the described situation or emotion, even without specific words | “the character gets flustered after a compliment” — at least 10 characters |
| Pattern | A regular expression search, for advanced users | academ[a-z]* — “academy”, “academies” and other forms |
Keywords are entered separated by commas. By default case doesn’t matter: “Café” and “café” are the same. If you need to tell uppercase and lowercase letters apart, turn on Case sensitive.
For the Meaning condition you can add Additional AI instructions: clarify the emotion, context or exceptions. For example: “only if the compliment is sincere, not a joke”.
⚡ What should happen: actions
Section titled “⚡ What should happen: actions”| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Add to context | The entry’s text is quietly added to the AI’s memory and steers the character’s next reply. The user doesn’t see it |
| Send message | The character sends the given text to the chat |
| Send image | The character sends the chosen picture to the chat |
| Change chat avatar | The character’s avatar in the chat changes to the chosen image — for example, a flustered or angry face |
For pictures, add an Image description: what emotion or scene it shows.
🎛️ Activation settings
Section titled “🎛️ Activation settings”| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Priority | From 1 to 5, 3 by default. If many entries match, entries with a higher priority are taken first |
| Activation chance, % | The chance that the entry triggers when its condition is met. 100% — always, 30% — roughly every third time. Useful for reactions, so they don’t repeat every time |
| Tell uppercase and lowercase letters apart in keywords | |
| Always include | Always add the entry to the AI’s memory, even if the condition isn’t met. For the most important rules of the world. Not used with the “Meaning” condition |
🧪 Examples
Section titled “🧪 Examples”Knowledge about the world.
Condition: Any keyword — Academy, academies, rector.
Action: Add to context.
Text: “Silver Spire Academy is a closed school of mages on a cliff above the sea. The rector is Archmage Irven, strict but fair. Students are forbidden to leave the academy walls after sunset.”
Reaction to a compliment. Condition: Meaning — “the user pays the character a sincere compliment”. Action: Change chat avatar — a picture where the character blushes. Chance: 70%.
Secret phrase.
Condition: All keywords — password, midnight.
Action: Send message.
Text: *She leans closer and whispers:* You know the password… Then listen carefully.
💡 Tips
Section titled “💡 Tips”- One entry, one topic. One character, one place, one rule. This way entries trigger more precisely and don’t get in each other’s way.
- Choose specific keywords. Names, titles, terms. General words like “world” or “magic” will trigger all the time.
- Add word forms. “academy, academies” — or one pattern rule for all forms.
- Keep it short and to the point. Two to five sentences of facts are better than a page of prose.
- Pictures and avatar changes bring the chat to life. Prepare a few of the character’s emotions — joy, embarrassment, anger — and tie them to situations by meaning.
👀 Who can see the lore
Section titled “👀 Who can see the lore”The character’s settings have a Lore switch:
- Public — any user can read the entries and their trigger conditions in the character’s profile. Only the creator can change them.
- Hidden — only you see the entries, while editing.
❓ Related questions
Section titled “❓ Related questions”How much does lore cost?
Nothing. Lore is free — no tokens are charged for triggered entries, either to the creator or to the user.
An entry doesn’t trigger. What should I check?
Make sure the keyword appears in the conversation in exactly that form: “café” won’t match “coffee shop”. Add other word forms or use a pattern. Check whether Case sensitive is on and whether the chance is set low. If many entries match, raise the priority of the one you need.
Is lore transferred when importing a character?
Not at the moment. Importing transfers the character’s profile, and lore entries have to be added manually.
How many entries can I add?
Up to 500 active entries per character.
Do lore changes apply to chats that have already started?
Yes. Lore is checked on every reply, so new and changed entries start working right away in all chats with the character.
