Importing characters

If your character already lives on another platform, you don’t need to retype it. CAICHAT can take the profile from a link or a file, and you check and save the result.

📥 How to import

1. In the left menu, click Create → New Chatbot.

2. On the creation page, click Import chatbot in the top right.

3. Choose a method — by link or from a file (see below).

4. CAICHAT fills in the profile: name, description, personality, scenario, greetings, dialog examples, tags and avatar. Check the fields and correct them if needed.

5. Click Create chatbot.

By link

Links to characters on spicychat.ai and juicychat.ai are supported for now.

1. Open the character on the original site and copy the page address.
2. Paste it into the Chatbot URL field.
3. Click Import From URL.

From a file

Character cards in the common format used by many roleplay chat platforms and apps are supported:

• JSON — a file with the character’s profile;
• PNG or JPG — a picture with the profile stored inside.

File size is up to 10 MB. Drag the file into the field on the left or click it to choose a file, then click Import chatbot.

What isn’t transferred

Lore entries from a file aren’t transferred for now — add them manually in the lore book. Chats and stats from the other platform aren’t transferred either.

Respect creators

Import your own characters or ones whose creator has allowed their use. Publishing other people’s characters without permission breaks the community guidelines.

Check that the link leads to a specific character’s page on spicychat.ai or juicychat.ai and that the character is public. Other sites don’t share private characters.

The file won’t upload

JSON, PNG and JPG files up to 10 MB are supported. The picture must be a character card, that is, contain the profile inside. A plain avatar without a profile can’t be imported.

After importing, the character replies in another language

Profiles from other platforms are often written in English. A character usually replies in the user’s language; if it doesn’t, type /cmd Write in English in the chat. You can also translate the greetings with the Translate for button in the editor.
